  Advanced Search
At Yellow Pages of America our goal is to help you find exactly what you are looking for. If basic search results aren't helping perhaps it's time to utilize our Advanced Search features. Our Advanced Search functionality will enable you to filter your search terms to narrow in on exactly what you are looking for. Review our Advanced Search topics below to get an overview of how to efficiently and effectively target your searches.
Advanced Search - Methods
"EXACT PHRASE" SEARCH
The Yellow Pages of America search technology gives you the ability to locate websites by specific key word phrase relevancy. Save time and narrow your search results by placing "quotation marks" before and after the exact keyword phrase you are searching. By placing "quotes" around your keyword phrase, only websites containing that exact phrase will appear in the list results.
Example: Let's say you are looking for Mama's Pizza restaurant in Toronto. Instead of simply doing a keyword search for pizza, try searching the exact phrase: "mama's pizza" with quotes on both sides of the keyword phrase.
Tip:If the business your looking for uses a specific tag line or slogan that you are familiar with, try searching with "quotes" around that keyword phrase.
WORD EXCLUSION ( - ) SEARCH
As part of our ongoing effort to make your searching experience more enjoyable advanced features like Word Exclusion allow you to make sure that certain sites containing certain keywords don't show up in your search results. Filter sites from your search results by simply placing a hyphen ( - ) before those keywords you wish to exclude.
Example: If you are wanting to perform a search for online dating communities but would like to exclude any sites containing explicit content you might search using keywords: online dating - sex nudity. Notice how the hyphen separates the desired keywords from those that are to be excluded.
Tip: When searching using word exclusion, be sure to separate search term with a space in between each unique keyword.
GEOGRAPHIC SEARCH
Whether by province, city, zip code, or street...when you're interested in finding a business or location in a specific area we recommend conducting a Geographic Search. Yellow Pages of America's site indexing features allow our database to capture all relevant keyword data specific to addresses and locations.
Example: toronto boutiques yonge street
Tip: When seeking information for businesses in a specific geographic area try searching by address or by a keyword and that location.
